A CAMPAIGN to convince people to go vegan is offering free substitutes for cheese, chocolate and chicken for Reading's University students to try.
Viva!, the vegan charity, is touring universities in the south east, including the University of Reading, to try and convince students to go animal-cruelty-free.

Alice Short, Viva! Campaigner and organiser of the tour, said: “We’re in the midst of a climate crisis and students are becoming increasingly conscious of their carbon footprint.
"Research has proven that the single biggest action individuals can take to reduce their impact on the planet is to go vegan.
"We know students are often forward-thinking and always open to trying free food, so we thought what better time to show them how easy, tasty and simple it can be to try vegan!”

The organisation will be offering the free treats at the University of Reading's Student's Union building between 11am and 4pm on September 22 and September 23.
