The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:
July 12
BENJAMIN GRAHAM, 33, of Woodland Close, Whitley Wood, Reading, admitted resisting a constable in the execution of their duty in Maidenhead on December 19, 2020. Also admitted beating an emergency worker in Maidenhead on the same date. Conditional discharge for 12 months. Ordered to pay compensation of £50.
EDDIE BEAUMONT, 64, of Finch Road, Earley, convicted of possession of a kitchen knife in a public place, namely Whitley Road, on March 15, 2021. Committed to prison for 26 weeks due to the severity of the offence. Fined £500 and ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
July 13
CLIVE OWEN, 67, of Kiln Road, Newbury, admitted leaving a vehicle in a parking space and failing to pay the appropriate charge in Burnham on January 12, 2012. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
JAMES WILSON, 29, of Beancroft Road, Thatcham, admitted driving without insurance and without a licence on Bath Road, Padworth, on January 15, 2021. Driving record endorsed with six points. Fined £390 and orderde to pay a £124 in court fees.
DARREN ANDERSON, 44, of Buccaneer Close, Woodley, admitted drink driving on Sandford Lane, Woodley, on December 30, 2020. Caught with 110 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the limit being 80mg per 100ml. Also admitted obstructing a police constable in the execution of their duty and possession of a class A drug, namely cocaine, in Woodley on the same date. Fined £1,155 and ordered to pay £200 in court fees. Banned from driving for 12 months.
SHAHZAAD AHMED, 37, of Ripley Road, Tilehurst, admitted driving without insurance on Robert Parker Road, Reading, on May 30, 2021. Fined £300 and order to pay £119 in court fees. Banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending.
TRACY JONES, 49, of Burbridge Close, Calcot, Reading, admitted to nine counts of theft from a shop, namely stealing alcohol and razors to the value of £1,597.09 from Waitrose in Thatcham, on March 3, 2021, March 29, 2021, April 6, 2021, April, 26, 2021, April 27, 2021, May 6, 2021, May 27, 2021 June 3 2021, and June 14, 2021. Committed to prison for 26 weeks suspened for 12 months. Banned from entering Waitrose in Thatcham for 12 months. Must pay £500 in compensation.
CONNOR VELVICK, 24, of Burchill Road, Newbury, admitted sending a racially-aggravated communication to two people in Newbury on July 16, 2020. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. Must pay compensation of £200 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
July 16
GARRY WRIGHT, of Reading Road, Pangbourne, Reading, admitted threatening to damage property, namely threatening to burn down a house, in Reading on November 21, 2020. Also admitted sending an offensive communication in Reading on the same date. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. Must pay £180 in court fees.
LUCAS BROWN, 22, of Caversham Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway Service without paying the £76.70 train fare in Reading on January 29, 2021. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £76.70 compensation. Must pay £34 victim surcharge and £180 court costs.
JOEL ELLIS, 41, of Belmont Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway Service without paying the £2.00 train fare in Reading on January 27, 2021. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £2.00 compensation. Must pay £34 victim surcharge and £180 court costs.
GARY HADWICK, 50, of Willow Street, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway Service without paying the £6.90 train fare in Reading on January 126, 2021. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £6.90 compensation. Must pay £34 victim surcharge and £180 court costs.
KURT LANCASTER, 22, of Oxford Road, Tilehurst, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway Service without paying the £3.00 train fare in Reading on February 28, 2021. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £3.00 compensation. Must pay £34 victim surcharge and £180 court costs.
CHRISTIAN MBOLOLELE, 37, of South Street, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway Service without paying the £25.90 train fare in Reading on January 9, 2021. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £25.90 compensation. Must pay £34 victim surcharge and £180 court costs.
YASMIN SALEEM, 43, of Patriot Place, Reading, admitted dumping waste, namely a cardboard box and TopShop parcel bag, at the rear of a car park on Queens Road in Reading, on June 12, 2020. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £240 in court fees.
DAVID PODGORKSI, 31, of Kensington Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway Service without paying the £3.90 train fare in Reading on February 8, 2021. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £3.90 compensation. Must pay £34 victim surcharge and £180 court costs.
July 19
CHARLES APPIAH, 25, of Liverpool Road, Reading, admitted driving without insurance on Palmer Park, Reading, on February 28, 2021. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £119 in court fees.
SHEHZAD KHADAM, 32, of Whitley Wood Lane, Shinfield, Reading, admitted driving without insurance on Church Street, Reading, on October 19, 2019. Fined £300. Ordered to pay £119 in court fees. Banned from driving for six months.
MATTHEW POPE, 57, of Buckingham Drive, Emmer Green, Reading, admitted using threatening behaviour to cause a police officer harassment in Reading on September 6, 2019. Committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months. Ordered to pay compensation of £100.
