A new bar with games such as Bavarian axe throwing, ‘crazier golf’, electric darts, shuffleboard, and beer pong could be coming to Reading.
BBB Reading Ltd has submitted a licence application to open Boom Battle Bar at the former Lakeland store at The Oracle.
With franchises in Cardiff, Eastbourne, Lakeside, Liverpool and Norwich, Boom Battle Bar is planning to open in 23 more locations, including Reading.

Boom Battle Bar is owned by the people behind Flip Out, adventure and trampoline parks across the UK, including in Aylesbury and Basingstoke.
It describes itself as: “The best place to get socially competitive with your friends! Don’t let anyone else tell you different. We’re the best.
“All our venues have an electric mix of games, including Axe Throwing, Crazier Golf, Boules, Electric Darts, Shuffleboard, Skee Ball, Pool, Curling, Marble Tarble, Boom Ball, tasty food, drinks, & a guaranteed good time.
“Gua-ran-TEEd (get it? Because of the golf…)”

BBB Reading LTD has applied to Reading Borough Council (RBC) for a licence to open from 12pm-Midnight, Sunday-Thursday and 12pm-2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Alcohol, hot food and hot drinks would be on sale at the same hours from Monday to Thursday but would end half an hour before closing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Finally, the indoor sports and recorded music would end at the same hours as closing time from Sunday-Thursday but half an hour early on Fridays and Saturdays.
The former Lakeland store is at Unit No. L30, Lower Level, Oracle Shopping Centre, Reading.
Lakeland moved from the Minster Street site to Broad Street in November 2019.
