Police are continuing to search for a rapist after a woman was attacked in a layby whilst investigating an empty car seat.
The incident happened at a layby on the A4 in Thatcham, West Berkshire, opposite the junction with Cox's Lane, just after midnight on Monday, August 16.
According to the victim, she was driving along the road when she saw an empty child's car seat in the layby, causing her to stop, out of concern for a child she thought might be at risk.
Thames Valley Police launched an investigation and arrested a 28-year-old-man from Bracknell.
However, following a number of enquiries, he has now been released with no further action.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad, said: “We continue to investigate this incident and continue to follow multiple lines of enquiry.
“The victim is being supported by specially trained officers and we are working with her to gather further information to assist us in investigating this concerning incident.
“We would like to appeal to anyone with information about this incident to please call 101 or go online quoting reference Op Fax 43210366130.

“As a result of this incident we are continuing to carry out reassurance patrols and we would advise any members of the public who have concerns to raise them with one of our officers or call 101.”
