Several motorway closures will affect drivers across Berkshire this weekend, according to National Highways England.
This is mainly because of repairs on the M4 which will last the full weekend.
If you are set to be travelling along these areas at that sort of time, then take note of what diversions will be in place.
Here’s a list of all of the closures from Friday October 29 to Monday November 1.
What are the M4 closures this weekend?
M4 Westbound
Prince of Wales Bridge closure
The Prince of Wales eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight from Friday October 29 from 23:00 to Saturday October 30 at 07:00.
The closure also includes the westbound safety lane.
Why is it closed?
Overnight maintenance work on the bridge is continuing again this week.
Are there any diversions?
Drivers can use the M48 Severn Bridge instead during the closure.
M4 Both directions
Junction 6 to Junction 8 and 9
The M4 eastbound and westbound between Junctions 6 and 8 and 9 will be closed overnight across the weekend.
The closures, which will also affect the carriageway in both directions, will start from Friday October 29 at 20:00 with the road reopening in the morning of Saturday October 30 at 06.00.
This pattern will continue across the weekend with the road closing again on Saturday evening at 20:00 and reopening again on Sunday October 31 at 6am.
Into Sunday, it will be closed again from 20:00 and will reopen on Monday morning from 06:00.
Why is it closed?
The motorway is closed due to ongoing smart motorway works.
Are there any diversions?
Drivers should look for diversions via the Highways England network and Local Authority roads.
