The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:
September 24
BABAR MALIK, 38, of Windrush Way, Reading, admitted speeding on Tilehurst Road in Reading on July 30, 2020, namely going 43mph in a 30mph. Fined £440, made to pay £129 in court fees. Given six points on his licence.
AJITH HETTIARATCHY, 59, of Wantage Road, Reading, admitted exceeding a 50mph temporary speed limit on the M4 motorway on Junction 7 at Waltham St Lawrence on October 10, 2020. Caught going 62mph. Fined £100 and made to pay £119 in court fees. Given three points on driving licence.
TADAS DUMBAUSKAS, 40, of Chester Street, Reading, admitted dumping waste next to garages on Chester Street, Reading, on March 9, 2021. Fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £725 in court fees.
September 29
KINGSLEY HAUGHTON, 45, of Willow Street, Reading, admitted three counts of theft from a shop, namely stealing alcohol worth £195 from Marks and Spencer in Reading between March 19 and April 22, 2021. Committed to prison for 35 weeks as ‘defendant has a flagrant disregard for court orders’ and because ‘offence was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending.’ Must pay £128 victim surcharge.
GABRIELLA TIMOTTITY, 48, of Cressingham Road, Whitley, Reading, admitted drink driving on Lower Earley Way in Earley on June 15, 2021. Caught with 116 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg per 100ml. Banned from driving for 24 months. Community order made. Must take part in up to eight rehabilitation activity days. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £180 in court fees.
September 30
SANDRA EDWARDS, 54, of Blandford Road, Reading, admitted failing to provide a blood test when required in Reading on February 9, 2020. Also convicted of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver in Reading on the same date. Banned from driving for 18 months. Fined £322 and ordered to pay £654 in court fees.
October 4
SAMANTHA LANE, 39, of Laburnam Gardens, Reading, admitted ten counts of theft from a shop, namely stealing meat and detergent from Sainsbury’s on Shinfield Road, Reading, between March 27, 2021 and May 20, 2021. Also admitted assault by beating on the same date. Community order made. Must take part in up to 30 rehabilitation activity days. Must pay £200 compensation.
October 5
JUDE REMEDIOUS, 60, of Blenheim Gardens, Reading, convicted of using threatening behaviour with intent to cause distress in Reading on September 9, 2020. Fined £200, must pay compensation of £200, and ordered to pay £534 in court fees.
