Here's how the Royals rated after their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the SCL Stadium.
Southwood: 6/10 - Commanded his box well and can’t be blamed for the Forest goal. There was simply far too much power on the strike to expect a save.
Yiadom: 7/10 - Showed so much energy going forward and carved out some really good chances. Unlucky not to get an assist in the first half when Drinkwater fired Yiadom’s cut-back at Brice Samba.
Moore: 5/10 - The captain was asleep for the opening goal but produced vital block to deny Lewis Grabban the chance to double Forest’s lead early in the second half.
Holmes: 7/10 Looked up for the fight from the get go. Showed real character and determination and made some brilliant blocks too.
Dann: 8/10 Another strong performance from the experienced defender. Looked calm on the ball and defended well before getting Reading back on level terms with a clever finish.
Rahman: 6/10 - Was caught out defensively on a number of occasions but was unlucky not to score when his swerving shot was parried away by Samba.
Drinkwater: 7/10 – He dictated the tempo well and was unlucky not to score in the first half. He was also the catalyst of several attacks before being withdrawn after 70 minutes – presumably fitness-related.
Laurent: 6/10 - Lots of energy, drove the team forward and did his defensive duties too. One stand-out moment where he filled in for Rahman to prevent Grabban from giving Forest the lead.
Ejaria: 5/10 - Not his greatest performance. Struggled to get into the game, particularly in the first half, and was guilty of some sloppy passing.
Swift: 6/10 - Quiet compared to the standards he has set himself this season but a solid performance overall.
Puscas: 6/10 - Same old story, worked hard for the team but just lacked that killer instinct in front of goal. Had a golden chance to score in the first half which he missed – thankfully he was offside anyway.
Carroll: 7/10 - Gave Reading a completely different dynamic when he came on and used his stature well. Played a hand in the equalising goal.
Dele-Bashiru: 6/10 – Came on late in the game but didn’t really have much of an impact on proceedings.
