Robbers assaulted a man in Oxford Road and stole his wallet on Saturday, police said.
The victim, aged in his forties, was taken to hospital with facial injuries after three men attacked him between 1am and 1.30am.
The men, which police described as Asian, took his phone and wallet.
The first offender is aged between 20 and 25 years old and approximately 6ft 3inc tall with a slim build.

He had trimmed facial hair and braids which reached his shoulders on one side but were shaved on the other.
The other two offenders were aged between 25 and 30 years old and both were shorter than the first offender.
Investigating officer, PC James Packman based at Reading police station, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident and would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.

“It is understood the offenders left in a vehicle from the scene.
