TESCO has apologised after an 'abusive' delivery worker made a man feel 'terrified' in Reading.
The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, contacted the Chronicle after claiming the Tesco driver hurled abuse at him.
On Thursday, November 11, the resident was trying to drive through Kingsway in Caversham when the supermarket delivery van blocked the road.
He beeped his horn to alert the delivery driver he was trying to pass through, but was then shouted at on the street.
The resident claims the Tesco driver said ‘you have messed up with the wrong person and you will have to face the consequences.'

The complainant said: " I was very much worried about the safety and kept on calling TESCO to know if there is any threat to my safety and well being. He said to me 'you don't know who I am and I can do anything'.
"I was standing in the middle of the road and the driver just jumped onto his van leaving me vulnerable and scared.
"He said that I will have to face the consequences and I will have to pay for it as I messed up with the wrong person. He was very abusive and kept on threatening me with the consequences."
The resident felt further disappointment from Tesco in Napier Road, Reading after making numerous calls to which he received no answer from.
He said he felt like wanting to call police at the time but called the Tesco delivery depot instead.
Adding: "I do not want any strict action to be taken against the driver. He might be having a rough day but I was expecting a call from the delivery depot manager saying that the driver realised his mistake and there is no threat to my safety and security. I was so terrified by this incident but still, TESCO management is taking it so lightly."
After getting Tesco's attention on Twitter, the supermarket sent him a £40 voucher.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour and have investigated Mr xxx complaint, contacting him by email and by telephone to apologise.”
