Smart motorway upgrade work will see a section of the M4 in Berkshire closed this weekend.
The affected stretch of the motorway will be closed until Monday morning.
The works, which began in 2018 at a cost of £848 million, are due to be completed in 2022.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “We’re improving the M4 between junction 3 at Hayes and junction 12 at Theale by upgrading it to a smart motorway.
“This means there will be an additional lane for traffic which will increase capacity and reduce congestion, more technology on the road to smooth traffic flows and manage incidents and more reliable journey times.”
Planned M4 closures this weekend
Where: The M4 will be closed in both directions between Junctions 5 (Langley) and 6 (Slough-Windsor).
When: The closure will start after 8pm Friday, December 10, and the motorway will reopen by 6am on Monday, December 13.
