One person has died and a man has been arrested after a major building fire in Reading, according to police.
A 31-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of arson and murder after a fire broke out in Grovelands Road early this morning.
There are a number of other residents of the building who are as yet unaccounted for, police said.

One resident reported a loud bang and people screaming at 3am this morning before firefighters, police and ambulance services rushed to the scene.
A resident of Osborne Road, who did not want to be named, said: “We could hear people shouting. There was a lady stuck in there waving a white hanky out the window.
“She did get rescued.”
Road closures are in place at the junction with Oxford Road and people are asked to avoid the area at this time.
The incident is not being treated as terrorism related.
