Cleaning up after Christmas is no mean task especially when there are changes to your regular bin collection in Reading.
As we count down to Christmas, the rubbish is already starting to pile up from awkward cardboard boxes to discarded wrapping paper and far too many food wrappers.
The nightmare after Christmas comes when you realise there are no bin collection services running and the rubbish is piling high.
Here's when your bins will be collected over the festive period to save you the headache.
The Christmas pause to garden waste collections will begin 2 weeks early, from 13 December, due to pressures on crews from COVID-19.

Bin collection days in Reading over Christmas
Reading Borough Council has already made a couple of changes to your Christmas waste collection.
The council will be focusing on the collection of grey, red and food waste bins over the festive period since staff are already stretched over Covid self-isolation and sickness.
It has reduced its services by suspending all green bin collections from December 13.
Services are expected to resume on January 10, 2022.
Speaking to Berkshire Live, Councillor Adele Barnett-Ward, the council’s lead member for neighbourhoods and communities, said: “Despite recruiting extra staff earlier in the year, with illness levels currently so high we simply don’t have enough crews to empty our usual 30,000 bins a day.
“The demand for garden waste collections is lower at this time of year and, combined with Christmas being by far the busiest time for all our residual waste and priority recycling collections, that has to be our focus at this time.”
Cllr Barnett-Ward added: “All being well, we look forward to resuming garden waste collections in the new year."
If you're not sure what day your bin collection is, consult the Reading Borough council website.
