A WOMAN has been stabbed and had an 'unknown substance' thrown over her in a vicious attack in Reading.
Thames Valley Police have cordoned off a house in Foxhays Road, Reading, after the incident that happened at about 10.30am today (Dec 17).
Police said the victim, a woman in her thirties, was attacked by two men inside the property.
She had stab wounds to her face and neck, and also had an unknown substance thrown over her. The victim is currently receiving hospital treatment and is in a stable condition.
Reports suggested it was an 'acid attack'. Police have described the substance as 'unknown'.
Police describe the offenders as two black men, wearing hooded jumpers and high visibility tabards.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Laura Corscadden, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has information about what happened, to please come forward.
“I’d also ask anyone in the local area with personal CCTV or dash-cams to check any footage in case it may assist our investigation."
The house has since been cordoned off by police and forensic teams are scouring the scene.
Officers can be seen standing watch along the cordon, and forensic teams are working inside the house that has been taped off.
