A STRING of vehicle and property crimes have been reported to police in West Berkshire over the Christmas break.

This includes two offences recorded on Christmas Day as many people were tucking into their turkeys.

Thames Valley Police say the crime spree began on December 25 when between midnight and 10am offenders caused damage to a vehicle in Caunter Road, Newbury.

Later that day, between 6pm and 8pm, offenders damaged a window of a property on Shaw Road, Newbury.

On December 27, a Honda quad bike was stolen in Cods Hill, Beenham at an unknown time.

At 8.30pm that evening, a front door was damaged in Chapel Street, Thatcham.

The following day, at 5.55am, three offenders broke into a property on Westwood Road and stole car keys. They were disturbed and seen running towards a vehicle which they made off in.

And between 6.40pm on December 28 and 6.40pm on December 29, offenders entered fields and caused damage to crops in Main Street, West Ilsley.
