The Rotary Club of Pangbourne Woodcote 10k run returns for 2022 to raise runners heart rate, and vital funds for charity, on Sunday.

With more than 250 runners already signed up, it promises to be a tough but satisfying morning of activity.

Not for the faint hearted, less than one mile of the six is on flat ground, with assents and descents totalling 499ft.

However, don’t let that put you off this Sunday, with the event one of the best in the local area.

The race is set to start at 10.15 from Woodcote Village Hall (RG8 0SD) and bookings MUST be made in advance of 9am on race day with no option to sign up in person at the start line.

Entrance costs £18, with a £2 discount if you are a member of an affiliated running club.

All entrants must be 15 or over, with final finishing places available to view after the race here.

Thankfully the weather is looking promising, with clear skies and highs of six degrees centigrade.

One such cause which will receive donations is those effected by the Rowe Court fire in Tilehurst, Reading which has claimed the lives of two individuals and impacted hundreds more.

Other charities include Parkinsons UK, Duchess of Kent Hospice and Naomi House.

A spokesperson for Pangbourne Rotary Club said: "The event is in its 39th year,  we have only missed one due to Covid in 2021.

"Typically we have around 400 to 450 entrants, but are licensed by UK Athletics up to 600.

"All proceeds after organisation costs go to charitable and local worthy causes, and all labour to run and Marshall the event is given free by club members and volunteers.

"It is a tough 10K but much enjoyed by participants, the public and our volunteers, and our charitable donations make it even more worthwhile”
