A Reading pub with a swimming pool is closing for three months for a £100k renovation, pending council approval.
The Jolly Anglers, in Kennet Side, which is already home to a jacuzzi, pool and outdoor bar, will double in size inside, according to owner Xhemail Zequiri.
The pub won’t be open indoors until the beginning of March, but the beer garden will remain open on weekends.

“It will look completely different inside the pub. It’s not going to be the same pub. I’m excited,” Mr Zequiri who has owned the Jolly Anglers since 2019.
“It’s such an old building and there’s not much space so I want a whole new everything new electrics, new water system, change the ceiling, everything.“
He intends to remove walss, move the kitchen and change the bar to make more space inside.
The floors will be tiled, spotlights installed in the ceiling and even a pergola automatic rooftop erected in the garden.
Mr Zequiri will submit plans to Reading Borough Council and begin work upon approval.
