THE first victim of the Rowe Court, Tilehurst, fire has been named.
Thames Valley Police named Neil Morris, 45, as one of two victims recovered from the building on Monday, January 31.
It comes weeks after a fire engulfed the flats at the end of Rowe Court in the early hours of December 15, 2021.
Mr Morris’s family released a tribute this evening. It said: “Neil was a dearly loved son, brother, brother in law, uncle, and friend and has been taken from us too soon and in such a tragic way.
“The family are devastated and ask that they be allowed to grieve in private at this very difficult time.
“The family also ask that Neil’s memory is given the privacy and dignity he rightly deserves.”
Mr Morris's family are being support by specially trained officers.
