An investigation has been launched after a Reading bus hit a car carrying a two-year-old boy and 'took off at speed without stopping.
A woman claimed the Reading Buses vehicle collided with her parked Mercedes so hard the back of her car was lifted from the ground.
The woman ran to speak to the bus driver after the collision, which occurred at 3.20pm on Saturday January 30, but claims he ‘took off at speed’.
“I am in shock that a Reading bus driver could act like this after endangering my child’s safety and causing so much damage to my car,” she wrote, in an online post.

“I jumped out and ran to speak with the driver at which point he took off at speed and refused to stop.”
Reading Buses said an investigation was underway.
The vehicles collided when the Number 11 to Coley tried to overtake another bus on London Street and swung into the woman’s vehicle on its rear driver’s side, where her son was sitting.

Police confirmed a collision took place and said their reports "suggest the bus did not stop at the scene".
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “No arrests have been made at this stage. An investigation will be conducted into the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
A Reading Buses spokesperson said: “We understand that there was an incident on Sunday. We are gathering information about what happened, including bus CCTV, so that it can be investigated.”
