A BODY has been found in the River Thames almost one month after police began searching for a missing man.
Thames Valley Police launched a search and rescue operation on January 10 after a man was reportedly seen in the water near Caversham Bridge.
It is believed the body found on Monday, February 7 in Sonning is that of the missing man.
A formal identification has not taken place yet but his next of kin has been informed.

The man’s death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Local Policing Area Commander for Reading, Superintendent Steve Raffield, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man at this very difficult time.
“I would like to thank the emergency services and Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue for their support.”
