A day of twists and turns in Reading FC's managerial saga means boss Veljko Paunovic could still be in charge for Wednesday's huge relegation six-pointer at Peterborough United.
Royals' insiders said it was 'business as usual' at the club this morning (February 14) despite reports to the contrary the previous evening.
Multiple sources told the Chronicle that Paunovic was expected to depart on Monday after Saturday's defeat at home to Coventry City, making it eight-straight losses.
National and local press reports also indicated this was the case with the Serbian set to be relieved of his duties.
But now, insiders at the club's Bearwood training ground have said that it's "business as usual" ahead of Wednesday's trip to London Road.
Additionally, it was understood that Academy Manager Michael Gilkes was expected to step up as interim boss in Paunovic's absence but the former Reading player was with the U23s today as they were beaten 3-1 by Derby County.
The Chronicle will endeavor to bring you details of the managerial situation at the club as soon as they are made available.
