The host of a new Reading FC podcast believes their new labour of love can be a much-needed lift for Royals fans.
The 1871 Podcast is set to begin tonight at 6.30pm, Tuesday, February 15 with hosts Mark Roach, former fan-favourite Dylan Kerr and Johnny Hunt.
Mr Kerr, now managing in South Africa, played more than 100 times for the side and was a much loved figure at Elm Park.
Mr Roach, a former employee of the club, and son of a former director, said that his love affair with the club began with the record-breaking side of 1985, and he hopes to bring back some of the positivity of the era.

He said: “It’s just after the 150 anniversary celebrations so we wanted to start after Saturday's game.
“I used to work for Reading, running a merchandise kiosk in the Broad Street Mall and I ran the public address system at Elm Park for a season in 1986/87.
“All three hosts, including Dylan, have a strong passion for the club and we just want to make it light-hearted and positive for all Reading fans.”
With guests already booked until April, the star-studded list of names includes Steve Coppell, Trevor Senior and Martin Allen to name but three.

When asked what sets them apart from those podcasts already available, namely the Tilehurst End and Elm Park Royals, Mr Roach insists it is their trips down memory lane which give them a niche.
He continued: “What sets it apart is the excellent guests we’ve got and that we try and hinge our podcast on the quality of the guests.
“We’re going to try really hard to strike a balance between discussing the current side and taking trips down memory lane.
