A TESCO worker was punched in the head by a man demanding money.
The robbery happened between 8pm and 8.15pm on Tuesday, Febraury 22, at Tesco in Tilehurst Road.
Police said the robber entered a restricted area in the shop and demanded money, before punching an employee in the head.
Another member of staff tried to intervene but was also assaulted by the attacker before he ran from the store without taking anything.
Police describe him as a white man, 5ft10ins tall, of lean build and was dressed all in black.
His face was covered and he had a hat on.
Staff investigator, Colette O’Neil based at Reading police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who saw this incident, or who has any information which could help our investigation, to get in touch.
“If you have any details which you think could be useful, please call us on 101, quoting reference number 43220081736.
