READING’S Children’s Festival is returning for its 33rd year this May and June.
Between May 14 and June 5 2022, families can look forward to three fun-packed weeks of events and activities across the town, kicking off with the action-packed Forbury Fiesta on Saturday, May 14.
This year’s theme is a celebration of all things biscuit related as Huntley and Palmers, the world-renowned biscuit makers originally based in Reading marks its 200-year anniversary.
The full diary of events and activities on offer across Children’s Festival 2022 will be available from April.
Lead Member for Culture, Heritage and Recreation,Cllr Karen Rowland, said:
“I’m delighted our fantastic Children’s Festival is returning for its 33rd year, and to be celebrating the 200th birthday of our famous Reading institution, Huntley and Palmers, with plenty of biscuit-themed fun. It is also a great build-up to all the exciting events and activities we are looking forward to as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“Our Children’s Festival is always maximum full-on fun for children and parents alike, and I’d encourage any local groups and organisations to apply for a space to shape this year’s exciting agenda, whether it’s fundraising or face-painting, we want to hear from you!”
