Two Reading men have been sentenced for intent to supply class A drugs.
29-year-old Conall Bascombe-McCarthy, of Byworth Close, was sentenced to five years and ten months in prison for possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.
22-year-old Preston Francis, of Alphington Road, was sentenced to three years in prison for possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin, as well as driving without a license and no insurance.
The offences date back to May 2021, when the pair made off from police in a VW Polo, before leaving the vehicle in Merton Road South.
Mr McCarthy was located hiding behind some bins, along with 26 wraps of cocaine and heroin.
Mr McCarthy was arrested when he was located, while Mr Francis was arrested a day later.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Jon Nicholls of the Stronghold team, based at Reading police station, said: “The Stronghold team will proactively and robustly target offenders.
“We constantly aim to disrupt and pursue offenders involved in the supply of drugs.
“The information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in our investigations.
