A MAN in his 70s and his cat were rescued from a burning building on Friday evening (March 18).
Firefighters rushed to a property in Luscombe Close, Caversham, Reading at 7.36pm.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road and Whitley Wood Fire Stations were sent to the scene, alongside one RBFRS Officer.

Firecrews rescued a man in his 70s and a cat from the building.
Paramedics treated the man for smoke inhalation at the scene and he was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service said: "Upon arrival, crews found a fire on the first floor of the property.
"Crews worked to rescue one person and one cat from the building, before extinguishing the fire using a hose reel. Crews provided Immediate Emergency Care to the person, before placing them into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
"Crews were on the scene for approximately 51 minutes."
