A DRIVER was caught speeding at 51mph in a 30 zone.
Roads Policing Officers from Thames Valley Police carried out an operation in Streatley, near Reading as part of Global Road Safety Week.
Led by the Roads Policing teams, the operation aims to improve safety on the county’s roads.
The week-long campaign focuses on challenging and changing the behaviour of those who put their own safety, and that of other road users at risk, with special emphasis on the fatal four offences.
The Fatal Four - speeding, drink/drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt and using a mobile phone at the wheel - are the motoring offences which are most linked to death or serious injury on the roads.
In the space of 90 minutes, officers managed to catch six drivers speeding in the 30mph zone.
The driver faces a 'day in court' as they were clocked speeding 51mph, 21 miles over the speed limit.
Police said: "The rest issued tickets and they will be getting points on their licences. While we can't be everywhere, we can be anywhere!"
