A fake social media account is spreading false information about Broad Street Mall’s Platinum Jubilee competition, according to the shopping centre.
A profile with the mall’s name has been contacting Reading residents to tell them they have won a genuine jubilee competition.
The real Broad Street Mall offered its followers the chance to win a jubilee party hamper by pitching names for their royal teddy bears on May 20.

Within two days the fake profile had been set up, and Broad Street Mall has urged anyone receiving messages to ignore and report them.
The winner will receive a message from the official account on May 25.
