Boris Johnson is currently under mounting pressure to resign following the bombshell report on lockdown-busting parties in No 10 and Whitehall which was recently published yesterday afternoon (May 25).
In her report on partygate Sue Gray said “many will be dismayed that behaviour of this kind took place on this scale at the heart of Government” and “what happened fell well short” of the standards expected.

We spoke Reading shoppers who shared their thoughts on the Prime Minister and whether they think he should resign.
Kayley Barton, a recruitment executive for JD Sports said: “I’ve gotten to the point where I stay away from it all because it so stressful.
“It’s a bit frustrating to think that everyone else was lockdown and couldn’t see family members. I know people who have struggled with mental health and depression and then to see what the prime minister is doing isn’t nice.
“I think that there have been many proven examples that there wasn’t great leadership so I think he should resign.”
Shopper, Sophia Kha said: “If that was anyone else, they would have resigned. He’s the first prime minister to break the law, and you can’t have an exception just because you are the prime minister.”

Majid Raza said: “This is very bad manners. During lockdown I had a baby and then I lost a job because of the situation, because of Covid. We struggled and what I’ve saved is all gone.
“The fact that there seems to be different rules for everyone doesn’t seem right. We should all have the same rules and just because he is the prime minister shouldn’t make him exempt.
“Yes, he is the prime minister, and he has responsibility over the country, but he also has to realise that other people have suffered.
He added: “I don’t mind having a prime minister as long as they run the country smoothly. If he has his own rules and we have separate rules it won’t work.”
Two women from Yately said: “It would be more of a mess if anyone resigned right now because then we would all have to start again with a new government.
“There is more important things going on than that. We just want them to run the country.
“I would be happy for each of them to be fined £10,000 and then be done with it and let it go.”
Boris Johnson is expected to tell the Commons he will “accept full responsibility for my failings” over partygate.
“I commissioned this report to set the record straight and allow us all to move on,” he is expected to tell MPs.
“I accept full responsibility for my failings. I am humbled by the whole experience.”
