Reading are to host Stevenage in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The tie is due to take place at the SCL Stadium on the week commencing August 8.
Managed by former Rotherham United boss Steve Evans, the Boro narrowly avoided relegation out of the Football League last season- finishing 21st.
Having played four times in the last decade, the Hertfordshire-based side took the Royals to a replay in the FA Cup in 2017/18, with a Jon-Dadi Bodvarsson hattrick enough to separate the sides in which the hosts famously donned both home and away shirts in the same match due to clashes.
Knocking Reading out of the FA Cup in 2012 as Brian McDermott's side won the Championship, the Broadhall Way outfit will be hoping to make it a second win in Berkshire.
Former Royal, and Academy graduate, Jake Taylor now plays for Stevenage- playing almost 40 times for Reading between 2010 and 2015.
