Six Bracknell parents must pay more than £3,200 for failing to ensure their child attended school regularly.
At Reading Magistrates Court on July 17, they faced prosecution under the Education Act of 1996 by Bracknell Forest Council.
Children of primary and secondary school age had not been appropriately attending four schools they were registered to.
Harmans Water Primary School
A parent whose child did not attend school between September 20, 2021, and March 15, 2022, was fined £660, and ordered to pay £270 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £66.
Wooden Hill Primary and Nursery School
A parent was fined £440 after failing to ensure their child attended school between September 27 and November 16, 2021.
The judge ordered them to pay £232 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £44.
Easthampstead Park Community School
A parent was fined £440 for failing to send their child to school between October 4 and October 8, 2021.
The judge ordered them to pay £195 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £44.
Another parent was fined £113 after their child did not attend school between November 1 and November 5.
The judge ordered them to pay £232 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
Binfield Church of England Primary School
The parents of a child at the school were fined £104 each after they did not attend between September 16 and November 5, 2021.
The judge ordered them to pay £97 each in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
