The arrival of the new B&M in Calcot has caused a lot of buzz throughout Reading over the last couple of weeks.

After three months of planning and two weeks of readying the store and it's employees, it will all go down from 9am tomorrow.

Our reporter, Nicole McBride was given the opportunity to drop down for a sneak peak less than 24 hours before the doors open.

Upon arrival to the newly installed store just off Bath Road, the one thing that caught my attention was the accessibility of the site and the number of other superstores located in the same retail park.

It’s neighbours include Sainsbury’s, Sports Direct, Clarks and Boots, including a handy McDonalds at the entrance after hours of bargain hunting.

Whether you are a regular at a B&M store or are thinking of taking a quick look for the first time, this store has everything that you could need.

Aisles and aisles of discounted products including mainstream brands can be seen throughout the shop, including an insane clearance aisle of bedding and soft furnishing which is to die for.

It really will be a unique experience for some of the first people through the door.

If you plan on having family gathering or outdoor parties this summer, an entire area is dedicated to hot-tubs, garden furniture, barbeques, and even projectors if a movie night under the stars is your thing.

There truly is something for everyone.

The toy aisle is enough to make any little girl or boy scream if they can manage to stand the queues. From an entire Barbie section, to Peppa Pig and Disney, the price of some of which have been slashed even before the store has opened.

For anyone with a sweet tooth, the first place that is literal heaven on earth is in the first aisle of the store. Every single sweet and savoury treat has been chosen as part of their product list.

Sweets and treats that I found included some that I thought had been discontinued, and cereals from other countries that are normally difficult to find at a reasonable price.

If you can’t get it anywhere else, B&M will probably have it.

Store manager, John Grouse said: We’re expecting a lot of people here tomorrow. There are some shoppers that I have heard are taking the day off from work just to come and queue up to see the new store on its opening day.

“With the variety of products that we sell there is no estimating how long the queue will be.”

Kevin Mitchell, the regional manager for B&M sad: “We’re all so excited about the store opening, it looks fantastic.

“I can’t wait to show everyone the value brands this side of Reading.”

So, if you are free tomorrow and in the Calcot area of Reading, get down to the discount superstore and see if you can grab anything.
