Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Massimo Luongo is on trial at Reading, the Reading Chronicle understand.
The Australia international refused a new contract at Hillsborough after three years with the Owl and will be available on a free transfer.
Coming through the Spurs Academy, he made his name with near-neighbours Swindon Town, being named in the PFA League Two Team of the Season in 2015, before a move to Queens Park Rangers.
Four solid seasons in West London came to an end in 2019, joining the South Yorkshire outfit.
Suffering with injuries over recent seasons, he has played 37 league matches over the last two campaigns.
The 29-year-old is a regular for Australia, earning more than 40 caps since 2014.
The Chronicle understands that he is one of many trialists at the club currently, with pre-season fixtures starting on Saturday [July 2] and a week-long training camp at St George's Park next week.
