Reading Academy graduate currently playing European giants Bayern Munich is rumoured with an English return to Nottingham Forest.
The left-back joined the six-time European champions on a free agent in 2021 after making more than 100 appearances for the Royals in four years with the first team.
Playing predominantly as back-up to Canada international Alphonso Davies, Richards played 17 times for Die Bayern last season- winning the Bundesliga and DFL Supercup.
Reports from Sky Sports in Germany suggest newly promoted Forest are interested in picking up the London-born full-back, with Julian Nagelsmann willing to let him go and the club valuing him at around £10m.
X News Omar #Richards: Nottingham is working hard on a transfer! Both clubs are in contact. Bayern is keen to let him go. Transfer fee probably around €10-12m. But: No total agreement so far and the player has to say YES first. Further talks are planned. #NFFC @SkySportDE 🏴

The one-time England Under-21 international is yet to agree on a deal, but it is thought that the clubs are in contact ahead of any potential move.
Two-time European Champions themselves, Forest made a return to the Premier League for the first time in more than 20 years last season, beating Huddersfield Town in the play-offs.
The Tricky Trees struggled at left-back last season, with Max Lowe only on loan and Jack Colback filling in admirably for much of the campaign.
