Former Reading striker Sam Smith is rumoured to be making a switch to MK Dons, reports suggest.
The 24-year-old scored twice in 11 appearances for the club five years ago, embarking on six loan moves before his contract ran up in 2021.
He returned to previous loan club, Cambridge United, and bagged 21 goals in all competitions last season- raising his stock amongst EFL clubs.
According to Alan Nixon of the Sun, the losing play-off semi finalists are keen on the Manchester-born forward, and are willing to part with a six figure sum to secure his services.
This comes the same week as former MK striker Connor Wickham is said to be trialling with Paul Ince's side ahead of a potential summer move.
The former Sunderland and Crystal Palace striker netted once in 15 for Ryan Manning's side last season but was released after their defeat to Buckinghamshire neighbours Wycombe Wanderers.
