Newcastle United midfielder Jeff Hendrick has been touted for a move to Berkshire ahead of the new Championship season.
The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international made his name with Derby County and Burnley before making a move to the Toon in 2020.
Making just four appearances last season, the central star was shipped out on loan to second tier rivals Queens Park Rangers for the second period.
He played 10 times for the Loftus Road outfit as they missed out on the play-offs.
Under contract until 2024, it would take a loan deal or for Eddie Howe to reelease him from his deal for the move to take place due to the Royals' strict transfer embargo.
According to the Daily Mail, Paul Ince holds interest in taking him on a loan deal to RG2.

Tom Ince, Joe Lumley and Dean Bouzanis have already come through the door as they currently train at St George's Park for pre-season.
The report goes on to say that rumoured loan target Elliot Anderson is expected to be sent out on loan too, although not until after pre-season training.
