Reading are said to be "edging closer" to signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Tyrese Fornah.
The 22-year-old made his debut for the Reds' first team, back in 2020, and spent the last half of last season on loan with League One side Shrewsbury Town.
Playing 19 times for the Salop, the defensive-minded player also had a five minute cameo for his parent club at the start of the year.
According to Courtney Friday, the former Plymouth Argyle midfielder is "edging closer" to a move to RG2.
A holding midfield player, it is a position the Royals desperately need to fill after Josh Laurent and Andy Rinomhota refused to sign contract extensions last month.
With the youngster under contract at the City Ground until 2024, it would be a loan deal that could see the London-born star move to Berkshire.
