Skateboarders offered to chase a suspect pursued by an officer in 30C heat yesterday (Monday).
Another good Samaritan tried to block the runner on Minster street, as police struggled to gain on him in the scorching temperatures.

The Thames Valley Police constable was running after a man wanted on suspicion of being involved in an assault in Forbury Square the same day.
“Foot chases in 30 degree heat are not the one,” the officer posted on Facebook.

Commenting on the helpful members of the public they said: “A big shout out to those folks.”
The prolonged foot chase ended in a garden in East End, where the man was found hiding and arrested.
He was also given a cannabis warning.
