FIRE crews remained on the scene of a property fire in Upper Basildon for more than 14 hours.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a fire on Aldworth Road, Upper Basildon, on Saturday, July 9 at 10.18pm.
A man was taken to hospital and is in a "serious condition", police confirmed.
Crews from Caversham Road, Newbury, Mortimer, Wokingham Road, Hungerford, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Whitley Wood and Theale Fire Stations responded to the incident, alongside crews from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service.
Four officers, an Incident Command Unit and an aerial ladder platform were also sent to the scene.

They remained on the scene for 14 hours and 20 minutes and further investigation into the cause of the fire is due to take place.
The two-storey property was said to have been involved in a gas explosion.
Firefighters used three jets to extinguish the resulting fire and prevent the fire from spreading. O
One person was placed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "This was a suspected explosion which caused a fire at a residential property in Aldworth Road, Upper Basildon, to which we were called at 10.42pm.
"It is not believed to be suspicious.
"A man has been taken to hospital and is in a serious condition."
