A police incident in the early hours caused the closure of the M4 near Reading this morning (14/7).
Both eastbound and westbound routes were closed near Junction 11, where traffic was being asked to take an alternative route.
Emergency services attended the scene and traffic was expected to re-open between 6:30 and 6:45am.
Inrix traffic data company said: “Traffic easing, earlier police incident on M4 in both directions at J11 A33 Basingstoke Road (Reading).
“Closed in both directions at 3:40 this morning (diverting via the roundabout).”
The M4 reopened in both directions just before 6:00am
A National Highway spokesman said: "The scene is now clear and all lanes have re-opened in both directions on the M4 within J11 following an earlier police led incident. Thank you for your patience, please have a safe onward journey."
