Firefighters have rescued two people from a house fire in Woodley that has engulfed two buildings.
Residents of Selsdon Avenue and throughout the Woodley area have been warned to keep windows shut while crews deal with the fire.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue teams were scrambled earlier this afternoon to tackle the blaze.
The emergency service tweeted to ask people to avoid the area around Selsdon Avenue until further notice.
A spokesperson from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said: "At 2:21pm on Tuesday, July 19, we received reports of a fire on Selsdon Avenue in Woodley.
"Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caverhsam Road, Wokingham Road, Ascot, Crowthorne, Whitley Wood and Theale were sent to the scene alongside four officers and an aerial ladder platform.
"Upon arrival, crews found a domestic fire involving two properties. Two people were evacuated from the buildings and have been placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Firefighters remain at the scene of the incident.
