Reading look set to miss out on left-back target James Maxwell, according to reports.

Still only 20, the Scotland youth international was released from the giants and has attracted interest from multiple clubs this summers.

Paul Ince has said that left-back remains a priority this summer, with former AFC Wimbledon star Nesta Guinness-Walker on trial and featuring in the last two friendlies in that position.
