A MAZDA driver has been ordered to pay more than £100 after he was caught speeding at over 50mph in a 30mph zone.
Andrew Alleyne, 49, of Dwyer Road, Reading, was recorded travelling at 55mph in Burghfield Road, Reading, on January 13 this year - nearly double the speed limit.
At a hearing at Oxfordshire Magistrates' Court on July 12, Alleyne pleaded guilty to a charge of speeding.
The 49-year-old was fined £120 for the offence and ordered to pay a further £34 in fines and £90 in court costs, leaving him with a total bill of £244.
The magistrates did not disqualify Alleyne from driving, but did endorse his licence with six penalty points.
Drivers who accumulate 12 or more points in a three year period can face a lengthy driving ban.
