Lloyds Bank is set to close a branch in Reading due to ‘less frequent customers.’
The bank in School Road, Tilehurst, will stop operating on November 3, making the next nearest branch three miles away.
This will be the first time 44 per cent of its customers have used a different branch, according to Lloyds.

But transactions made inside the branch have dropped by 65 per cent in the last five years, the bank said, with people moving online.
Cashpoint usage has declined by 55 per cent among individual customers and 48 per cent among business customers, Lloyds found.

They said 153 customers used the branch for a transaction in 11 of the last 12 months – a ‘regular customer’.
Customers will have to travel to Broad Street (three miles) or Crockhamwell Road (six miles away) if they wish to use a Lloyds branch.
