A MAN who preteneded he was younger in order to enter the Reading Half Marathon has reached the finals of the Brave Briton awards.
Tom Harrison, of Spencers Wood, is the oldest person to finish a marathon after faking eing born in 1940 due to restrictions on the competition’s website for the 2022 race.
The 86-year-old has reached the final 10 selection stage in the Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons 2022 Active Agers category.
Tom was the only runner aged 85 or over to complete a marathon in 2021. He ran the distance in 5hrs and 55mins.
