Reading manager Paul Ince was full of praise for his skipper, Andy Yiadom, after the comeback victory over Cardiff City.
Falling behind after four minutes to Callum O'Dowda's header, a Shane Long penalty and Tom Ince thunderbolt flipped the game on its head to secure an opening win of the campaign.
Right-back Yiadom, who was made captain over the summer after signing a new contract, lead by example and was constantly driving up and down the pitch.
Despite the headlines going to his son and returning hero Long, a special mention was made on the Ghana international.
"Today's performance was a captain's performance," he stated. "He's an all action man and he does that week in, week out. What he does as a captain he has a lot of responsibility to set an example and lead on the pitch and inspire people around him. If you're playing badly you have to make sure people around you are playing well."
Experienced in the role himself as a player, captaining England during his illustrious career with Manchester United and Inter Milan, Ince was delighted with the result and performance against the Bluebirds.
"I was delighted," he beamed. "It was an extension of where we were against Blackpool, outstanding. I was disappointed with the first goal, home fans and home start I wanted to start fast and get the crowd up but then we give a stupid free kick away and don’t mark our man. This group don’t give in, the response was brilliant, and we got them on the back foot.
