Stevenage boss Steve Evans described Reading as 'a beautiful place to play football' ahead of their Carabao Cup meeting tonight.
Scot Evans, who managed the likes of Leeds United and Rotherham United in the Championship, brings his League Two Boro to Berkshire on the back of two successive wins.
Despite admitting that he wants to progress, Evans explained that changes will be made.
"We’re not Reading," he started with the club media. "We don’t have 25, 23-year-olds kicking about the building."
"We will make some changes, but we’d have made some changes if we had been outstanding and won 3-0. This is an 18-man squad where any 11 can play."
Having met most recently in 2018, a 3-0 win for the Royals in the FA Cup third round replay, the two sides are well versed to Cup clashes.
Despite the two division gap in the teams, Evans insists that he will respect Reading and boss Paul Ince.
"Incey will do what Incey does, win lose or draw we’ll have a nice glass of wine afterwards," he stated. "He’ll want to win the game and make progress in the Carabao Cup, I want to make progress in the Carabao Cup.
"We have to be very respectful of Reading, I watched enough of them in their later pre-season games and Blackpool and Cardiff games, so they’ve got great options all over the pitch. I know two or three of the lads that play for them personally and it’s a beautiful place to go and play football."
