Food waste will be collected twice as often in Calcot, parts of Tilehurst and other areas within West Berkshire.
Weekly separate collections will begin on October 31 and homes are set to receive smaller, more secure caddies from August 22.
Refuse collectors have taken food waste from households every fortnight since 2011, either mixed in with garden waste or in a green wheelie bin.
What is going to happen?
Between August 22 and October 31, residents will receive:
- A grey five litre inside kitchen caddy
- A green 23 litre outside food waste caddy
- one roll of compostable liners
- If a resident currently places their waste in a communal bin store, their block of properties will receive at least one purple 240 litre wheeled bin to share instead of a green caddy
Collection will take place on the same day as your black bin and recycling collections.
