Reading boss Paul Ince confirmed he was 'concerned' about the upcoming run of fixtures due to an ongoing injury crisis.
So far the club only have '11-12 first team players' available to choose from, with the rest made up of Under-23s and Under-18 stars.
This was added to on Saturday, with Ovie Ejaria to miss at least four weeks with a hamstring injury.
There are seven matches remaining in August, with every Saturday and midweek taken up with fixtures.
Former England captain Ince stated he 'wasn't worried, but concerned' about the lack of depth for the remainder of the month.
Talking to the media ahead of a trip to Rotherham United, he said: "I’m not worried but you get concerned about getting injures because it’s a period of tough games, teams who have spent a lot of money and expect to be up there. You want to go into those games all guns blazing with your full armoury, and we haven’t got that.
"The more you’re playing with 11-12 first team players and kids, all it takes is a couple more injuries and you’re knackered. It’s not ideal with six games in two weeks but we will take one game as it comes. Normally you look at the league after 10 games and it starts to take shape but whatever happens won’t be a fair reflection on us because we haven’t got our full squad.
"It will be a tough month, but we can’t keep moaning about it, we’ve got to go and play and try to pick up some points."
With the injury crisis raging on, stars such as Andy Yiadpm, Junior Hoilett and Nesta Guinness-Walker are being forced to play out of position.
Despite the odds stacked against them, the Londoner is confident there are goals in his side.
"We’re moving too many people around just to make a team up so what the lads have done so far, performance wise, has been incredible. Hopefully we can get Naby in and we’ll look more solid. If we can be hard to beat, not concede too many goals, we’ll always have a chance of scoring with Thomas and Shane up there. Let’s go and see what we can do."
