Reading could be lining up against two soon-to-be Premier League stars in their fixture against Blackburn Rovers tonight.
Jon-Dahl Tomasson's Rovers are sitting on top of the Championship with a 100 per cent record of three wins from three.
Two players in particular have caught the eye, with rumours rife that they could soon be departing Ewood Park.
Ashley Phillips
The Daily Mail are reporting that 17-year-old Phillips is on the verge of completing a move to London giants Tottenham Hotspur.
The centre-back has played just twice for Rovers but has impressed in the youth team and is out of contract next summer.
Spurs Director of Football Fabio Paratici is expected to be at the SCL Stadium tonight and give the green light for the move to go ahead- beating the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City to his signature.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Liverpool defender Sepp Van den Berg is catching the eye.
Ben Brereton Diaz
The key star in the Rovers team, the Chile international bagged 22 last season and has got another two so far this campaign.
Not short of suitors, it has been reported that Nice have had a bid rejected while Bournemouth and Everton are the latest to have been linked to the former Nottingham Forest forward.
Boss Tomasson remained coy when speaking to local media, wanting the club to be prepared for either eventuality.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, he said: “The owners are important in that decision-making and those who run the club on a daily basis, Steve (Waggott), Suhail (Pasha) and Gregg (Broughton) who are important in that.
“He’s a great player so we know that we’d need to get the right amount of money.
“I would love him to stay, I know that."
