An attempted murder charge brought against a 17-year-old boy from Reading over the death of Sheldon Lewcock has been dropped.
A 20-year-old from Reading arrested on suspicion of murder and an 18-year-old from Reading arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have both been released without charge.
Police launched a murder investigation when Mr Lewcock, 19, died on August 9 at John Radcliffe Hospital after a collision with a van on Pierces Hill, Tilehurst, on August 4.

“Our investigation into this tragic incident has been ongoing, and we are now in a position to confirm that we are no longer treating this as a murder investigation,” said Detective Inspector Sally Spencer.
“Our thoughts remain with Mr Lewcock’s family, who are being supported by Family Liaison Officers and are being regularly updated during the investigation.”

She continued: “I would like to pass on my thanks to all those who have come forward with information during this investigation, and would also like to pay tribute to Mr Lewcock’s family and friends for their dignity and understanding during this part of the investigation.”
A 38-year-old man from Reading who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released without charge.
Coroners opened an inquest into Mr Lewcocks death and a post-mortem was conducted but no proposed cause of death has yet been given.
The police investigation included a report of an attack on a teenage girl in Southcote on August 4, with the force initially believing the two incidents to be linked.
Police were called to Coronation Square at around 5.45pm, where the girl had been left with serious facial injuries.
Kayden Williams, 18, of Don Close, Tilehurst, has been charged with grievous bodily harm without intent and assault by beating in connection with the incident in Southcote.
He will appear in Reading Crown Court on August 22.
Thames Valley Police have closed their murder investigation and the case of Mr Lewcocks death has been passed to the Joint Operations Roads Policing Serious Collision Investigation Unit ‘for an investigation into the circumstances,’ a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said.
